Pirates Bay Lookout, Eagle Hawk Neck, Tasman Peninsula
Your guide will take you in a private car for a drive outside of Hobart through Sorell and Dunalley, an amazingly resilient town that was ravaged by a major fire in 2013 and now rebuilt.
You head toward Eaglehawk Neck and the Tasman Peninsula with its stunning coastal views and rock features such as Tasmans Arch and Devils Kitchen. Whilst there you will drive through the cute and creative Doo Town with house names such as ‘Dr Doolittle’ and ’This ill Doo’.
Just up the road is Tasmanian Chocolate Foundry a brand new manufacturing and retail area at Taranna. The property has been transformed over the last few months and we will now have our own dedicated manufacturing space for our handmade lavender products. We were also left with an empty retail space that was perfect to do something else with. After a few different ideas were bandied about, in the end we made the decision to continue on with the long held tradition of chocolate making from the property. We were already making our own lavender chocolate the only issue we have now is stopping ourselves putting lavender in everything ! We are working on that!
This is followed by lunch at Port Arthur Lavender Cafe. You can enjoy a lunch of Tasmanian produce dishes with some inspired by lavender. Take stroll through the lavender farm, essential oil distillery and marvel at their large range of lavender products available instore.
Next stop is Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, a unique wildlife sanctuary that provides up close animal encounters, a Tasmanian native garden and artwork.
On your journey back towards Hobart, just before Dunalley we will stop at Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed for an opportunity to sample their superb wines and oysters from their nearby oyster farm.
Last stop is Rosny Lookout for a classic photo opportunity looking back at Hobart sitting below the majestic kunyani/Mt Wellington.
