Your private guide and car will pick you up from your Hobart accommodation or Hobart cruise ship terminal and take you south to Kettering, a beautiful town on the shores of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel.
Here you will take the car ferry across to Bruny Island where your first stop for the day is The Neck, an isthmus of land which connects the north and south of Bruny. You can take the stairs up to the top of the lookout for a spectacular 360-degree view.
We will then make our way to the most southern end of the island to Cape Bruny and South Bruny National Park. Here you will see the stunning coastline of South Bruny and views across the ocean sometimes as far as Pedra Branca. If you are interested, you can take the tour and climb the stairs up the old Cape Bruny Lighthouse and hear stories about the people who lived there and ran it.
Next we stop at Bruny Island Premium Wines for lunch and have the opportunity to try their wines and ciders before making our way through rich farming land out to Adventure Bay for a walk on the beach. Just nearby is a short 20-minute walk, called the Mavista Nature walk where not only you can see a rainforest, waterfall and a plethora of birdlife, but you also have a good chance of spotting a white wallaby.
On the way back to the ferry, if time permits, you may have the chance to drop into to see the locally made chocolate, cheese, oysters, honey or Whisky.
