Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your Hobart accommodation for a stunning 10-hour full day tour to see Northern Tasmania’s most popular tourist attractions, Bridestowe Lavender Estate and Launceston’s Cataract Gorge.
Your day will start with a drive north along Tasmania’s Midlands Highway, a route between Hobart and Launceston, built by convict road gangs in the early 1800s. You will drive through rolling farmlands and Georgian villages with a stop at Campbell Town before making your way to Nabowla home of Bridestowe Lavender. Bridestowe Estate is the largest lavender farm in the Southern Hemisphere with a spectacular view of full blooming lavender in December and January. Visitors are welcome all year round to see the beautiful ornamental gardens, manicured fields and bushland against the Mount Arthur backdrop. Their visitor centre is packed full of unique products, containing their lavender oil and dried flowers, including their world-famous and incredibly sought-after Bobbie the Bear. The café offers light meals and a range of lavender inspired treats.
Once you have immersed yourself in all things lavender your private guide will take you to Launceston to see Cataract Gorge. This gorge has been formed over time by the waters of the South Esk River and is a very popular natural escape for both locals and visitors very close to the city centre. It features beautiful walking trails, a natural deep basin, chairlift, suspension bridge and stunning gardens. At the end of the day, your guide will return you back to Hobart.
